Dim Sum! Hua Ting - you are still my favourite..

The dim sum is undoubtedly fresh, the prices notably competitive and the variety impressively wide.

I have been allergic to prawns since forever and hence the dim sum eating experience has always been a less then enjoyable one. So when I get to choose a wide range of fried, steamed and cooked from the kitchen dishes, without our crustacean friend, its always a pleasure.

So we ordered their famous chicken and mango tarts and steamed carrot cake, a few good old classics, some roast duck and roast pork and the pork belly 'poh-luo bao' that looked too irresistible a combination to pass up.
Each little platter or steamer in a league of it's on. The glutinous rice was extremely soft and fragrant with the egg yolk and the chicken. The chicken tart, was so yummy, crumbly hot evident from it's immediate arrival from the kitchen's hot oven.

The one commendable dish would have to be the roast duck. I normally don't like duck. As princess as it sounds, sometimes even after roasting, the bird still reeks of the dead bird smell and it's normally not something I would typically order. But kudos to the chef! The drumstick we ordered so ultra tender. No smell of bird at all, just tasty and juicy.

My verdict, Orchard Parade Hotel, absolutely a must visit once in one's brunch or Sat-leisurely- lunch life-time and a top five ranking in my "MUST-TRY" dim sum list.
